Unison: Simply Works

A captain is as good as his team – A captain is as bad as his team. These are common adages that come into play when it’s a team game. And these also validate the fact that working in unison is a matter of great importance.

Team work – what is team work? Team work is all about working in tandem, sharing ideas and ultimately ensuring that the efforts fructify. If one thought that individual brilliance would see you through then you are wrong.  There could be flashes at times but everyone has to contribute and if they don’t then eventually in the long run doomsday beckons.

Unison means going hand in hand – delegation of responsibilities, proper vigil, flexibility, adaptability and so on – it’s how working as a team plays on.

Talent matters but if resources are not marshaled properly then everything falls flat. And this is where camaraderie comes into play. You need to spot the right people for the right job and ensure there is bonhomie all throughout. Lack of unison or bonhomie means confusion, chaos and misunderstanding – that can make matters worse. There have been several instances when lack of unison has played spoilsport despite a gang of gifted people around.

Things have fallen apart on so many occasions – there have been bitterness, quarrels, parting of ways but all these can be avoided if there is parity of thoughts – parity means proper understanding and mutual respect for each other’s work and talent.

There could be differences but that can be sorted out amicably and this is the reason several teams despite consternation have come out with flying colours.

In the corporate sector, unison is of paramount importance – especially when it comes to the creative field. In the creative zone, several ideas float but the job of the decision maker is to make sure that there is a proper amalgamation of thoughts and the best decision is taken in the overall interest of the product.

We have seen debates at board meetings, differences of ideas, anger et al but all these are an anathema that is of no use. On the contrary working in unison plays a better role in this context. Be flexible and make sure the differences do not snowball into a major hiccup.

So, by now you must have understood the exigency of working in unison that is instrumental in shaping a team’s performance. Next time, when some differences crop up make sure you don’t overlook the importance of working in unison.
